Fine Coated Ground Calcium Carbonate, 1750 Mesh, Stearic Acid Coated
K-GCC-C2 is ground to 1750 mesh and then surface treated with stearic acid. Its median particle size is 2 µm and its top size is 8 µm.
The coating repels moisture and helps the powder mix evenly into polymers.

Fineness
What this fineness is suited to.
A D50 of 2 µm and a D97 of up to 8 µm gives a fine, even filler with few coarse particles. Combined with the stearic acid coating, it suits PVC pipes, profiles and cables, plastic film, masterbatch, rubber and sealants.

Mesh is a sieve based name for fineness. A higher mesh number means a finer powder.
D50
2 µm
D50 is the median particle size. Half of the particles are smaller than this figure and half are larger.
D97
max 8 µm
D97 is the size below which 97% of the particles fall. It describes the coarse end of the powder, so a lower D97 means fewer large particles.
