Ultrafine Uncoated Ground Calcium Carbonate, 1750 to 1880 Mesh
K-GCC-U2 is an ultrafine uncoated grade, milled to 1750 to 1880 mesh. Its median particle size is 2 to 2.4 µm and its top size is 8 µm.
It is the finest of the three uncoated grades.

Fineness
What this fineness is suited to.
With a D50 of 2 to 2.4 µm and a D97 of up to 8 µm, this grade has very few coarse particles. It is suited to applications where a smooth surface and high brightness matter, such as premium paints and coatings, sealants and paper.
Mesh
1750 to 1880 mesh
Mesh is a sieve based name for fineness. A higher mesh number means a finer powder.
D50
2 to 2.4 µm
D50 is the median particle size. Half of the particles are smaller than this figure and half are larger.
D97
max 8 µm
D97 is the size below which 97% of the particles fall. It describes the coarse end of the powder, so a lower D97 means fewer large particles.
